
Jason Szanyi
Skadden FellowJason Szanyi is a Skadden Fellow at the Center for Children’s Law and Policy. In partnership with the District of Columbia Public Defender Service’s Juvenile Services Program, Jason engages in direct representation and policy advocacy for children in the juvenile justice system. Prior to joining CCLP, Jason attended Harvard Law School. While there, he worked with the Government of India on reforms to their juvenile justice system as part of the law school’s Child Advocacy Program. Jason has also served as a legal intern in the Educational Opportunities Section of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where he worked on matters including racial and ethnic discrimination in educational facilities and access to services for English Language Learner students. Before law school, Jason attended Northwestern University. There, he majored in psychology and served as an undergraduate research fellow at the Institute for Policy Research, studying welfare reform, early childhood education, and other child development issues. Jason is a native of Munster, Indiana.
