Shauna Epps is the Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) Specialist with the Center for Children’s Law and Policy (CCLP) in Washington, DC.   She works with juvenile justice systems involved in the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Models for Change initiative to ensure that they have the tools to provide fair and equitable treatment of all youth, regardless of their race, ethnicity or gender.

Prior to joining CCLP in 2008, Shauna worked for the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice for 31 years.  She held varied positions as a Probation Officer, Intake Officer, Supervisor, Adjunct Trainer and retired as the first DMC Coordinator for the department after serving in that position  for 4 years.  Shauna has a BA Degree in Psychology, with postgraduate studies in Adolescent Psychology and Psychological Testing.
