Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Coalition

The Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Coalition is a consortium of more than 80 national non-profit organizations, representing a broad array of specialties including law enforcement, mental health, education, youth work, legal services, and the religious community. Coalition members share a common commitment to promoting policies that keep children safe and out of trouble, protecting those young people who do come into contact with the justice system, and reducing youth crime through effective interventions. The Coalition's many activities include: coordinating efforts among Coalition members' extensive grassroots networks of individuals and community-based, local, state and regional organizations; organizing congressional briefings; providing grassroots advocates, and congressional and administration staff with the latest information and research; media outreach; and regular coalition meetings that provide opportunities for information sharing, substantive discussions, and development of unified strategies. For more information, contact Coalition co-chairs Jill Ward at the Children's Defense Fund (202-662-3503) and Marc Schindler at the Youth Law Center (202-637-0377).
